BED LINEN AND TOWELS
Bed linen and towels are naturally included in the room price for bookings made after December 22nd 2016.
Bed linen and towels can be rented additionally for bookings made before December 22nd 2016 and costs DKK 65 per person for the entire stay. Alternatively, you can also choose to bring your own bed linen. Ýou can either pay for the renting of the bed linen in advance from our online booking or pay when checking in at the hostel.
Please be aware that sleeping bags are not allowed in the hostel and that avoiding the use of bed linen on our beds will result in a fee of DKK 500 per person.
The breakfast buffet is optional and costs DKK 75 when pre-ordered and half price for children under the age of 12. The breakfast buffet costs additional DKK 10 per person when ordering on the day.
Breakfast is served all days a week between 07:00 - 10:00
It is possible to pay for the breakfast buffet in advance via the online booking or from day-to-day while staying at the hostel.
Rooms are available from 14:00 and must be vacated no later than 10:00 on the day of departure. The reception must be notified of your arrival time if you are arriving later than 17:00. If your arrival time is has not been informed in advance, the reservation will automatically be cancelled at 17:00. All rooms must be quiet between 23:00 - 8:00.
If you book via online booking on the website, you will have to pay immediately in order to approve your booking. When booking via telephone or e-mail, you will shortly receive a confirmation e-mail with payment details.
Bookings made more than 14 days prior to arrival must be paid in advance. Bookings made less than 14 days prior to arrival can be paid online or at check-in.
A cancellation or modification of your booking can be made until 7 days before arrival.
The full amount will be returned to you minus a cancellation fee of DKK 200. It is not possible to get a refund if the booking is cancelled later than 7 days before arrival.
Please be aware that other conditions may apply when booking through third-party agencies (e.g. Expedia, Booking.com, etc.).
In the room:
Most of our rooms have cabinets that can be secured with a padlock. Padlocks can either be rented for DKK 20 or bought for DKK 50 at reception. You are also welcome to bring your own padlock.
If you arrive early, it is possible to place your luggage in a locked room on the ground floor at your own risk. If you are travelling as a part of a larger group arriving before 14.00, then please contact us a couple of days in advance via gb@cphhostel so that we may arrange storage for your luggage.
Individual travellers and smaller groups are able to store luggage for DKK 20 per person upon departure. Larger groups can either choose to store their luggage in one of their rooms by buying a late check-out until 13.00 for DKK 200, or rent a room for an extra night if the luggage is to be stored for an entire day. Unfortunately, it is not possible for groups to use the luggage room upon departure.
On very busy days it may occur that our own storage room is fully occupied at check-out time. On such days, we recommend you use LuggageHero, who offers luggage storage in several locations in Copenhagen. It is easy and quick to use and costs 1€ per hour and 2€ start-up fee. High standard guest kitchen
On the ground floor you will find a fully equipped kitchen available for the hostel's guests.
The kitchen was renovated in November 2016 in order to make it more functional with plenty of room for more guests cooking same time.
The kitchen is reserved for individuals and smaller groups. Groups of more than 10 persons may not use the kitchen. However, exceptions can be made in some cases. Please contact email@example.com for further requests.
Cooking or eating in the rooms is NOT allowed.
Washing machines and driers are available in the laundry room on the ground floor. In order to use the facilities in the laundry room you will need to deposit credit onto your key card at reception.
It is not permitted to bring alcohol into the hostel, and this will be confiscated by staff with an additional fee of DKK 1000.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building. All smoking must take place outside the hostel. Smoking inside will result in a fee of DKK 1000.
Danhostel Copenhagen City offers good accessibility for wheelchair users. There is a ramp at the main entrance as well as elevator connection to all floors of the building. Buttons, key card readers etc. are all positioned at a height that can be reached by wheelchair users. Wheelchair users are also able to book extra-large rooms with extra-large bathrooms enabling them to move around more easily. Please inform us immediately upon booking if you require a wheelchair-friendly room in order to ensure that such a room is available.
A Danhostel Family card gives a 10% member discount when booking a room/bed.
The family card applies to everyone in the same household.
Danhostel Family Cards can be bought upon arrival for DKK 150 for Danish citizens.
HI (Hostelling International) cards also give a 10% discount when booking a room/bed. If the cards are individual cards then everyone in a group booking will have to have one in order for a discount to apply.
An HI (Hostelling International) card can be purchased for 160 DKK per person. The card is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Lean more here.
We have the following recommendations for parking when arriving to Danhostel Copenhagen City by car:
Special discounts for Danhostel Copenhagen City's guests at Parkzone 24-hour parking
We have a special agreement with Parkzone allowing our guests to receive a 24-hour parking for DKK 100. A Parkzone day parking ticket is normally valid from 08.00 to 08.00 but as an extra service to our guests, Parkzone offers an additional 4 hours of parking, giving our guests 28 hours of parking from 08.00 to 12.00 the next day.
Our arrangement with Parkzone applies to the car park on Mitchellsgade 2, 1560 Copenhagen V, located right by Polititorvet behind Nykredit – just 5 min. walk from the hostel. See a map outlining the parking here.
Parking permits are issued at the reception desk in the hostel by registering your license plate number. Please have this information ready in advance when contacting the front desk.
We emphasise that Danhostel Copenhagen City is merely arranging the parking permits and will not to be held responsible for any theft or damage to any vehicles or contents of vehicles in the Parkzone car park. Any vehicles parked at the Parkzone car park are done so entirely at the drivers/owners risk.
Public parking in the surrounding areas
There are a few public parking areas in the streets running parallel to the main road H.C. Andersens Boulevard, which leads to the main entrance of Danhostel Copenhagen City. You can also park in some of the surrounding small streets, for example: Puggaardsgade, Hambrosgade or Rysensteensgade. Cheap parking in outer Copenhagen
If you will be staying in Copenhagen for several days and do not need your car while you are here, it is also a possibility for you to park in the more price-friendly zones (yellow zone), such as outer Østerbro, outer Nørrebro, etc. If you park close to an S-train station you will be able to reach Copenhagen central station in approximately 10 minutes from the yellow zone parking areas. Children and young people up to and including 15 years of age can only stay at Danhostel Copenhagen City when accompanied by adults.
16 and 17-year-olds may stay alone at the hostel provided that Danhostel Copenhagen City has received a confirmation from a parent or guardian in advance, confirming that the young person(s) are allowed to stay alone at the hostel.
Children under the age of 15 (and even when accompanied by adults) can only be accommodated in private rooms.
No animals/pets are allowed at Danhostel Copenhagen City. Service dogs are allowed provided that Danhostel Copenhagen City is notified prior to arrival.
Children of all ages are welcome at the hostel. A child under the age of 3 can stay free of charge in the existing beds in private rooms. It is possible to rent a baby cot for DKK 75 per stay including a sheet, duvet and pillow. There is only room for one baby cot per room.
