Red Gazelle is a jazz trio based in Copenhagen with Kristoffer Vejslev, Peter Price and Simon Forchhammer. The music, which for the most part is original compositions created by Vejslev combines cinematic melodicism with complex harmonies and rhythms to create a strong dynamic of tension and release. The group draws inspiration from the modern Nordic jazz scene of their hometown while still keeping a keen ear to the latest movements in jazz happening across the Atlantic.
Experience the trio and their music from the upcoming album In The Midst Of It All, which is a mix of melancholic poetry & enticing grooves. The music shifts from ear-catching tunes with animated solos to dreamy collective improvisations on Red Gazelle Trio’s atmospheric new album.
On Red Gazelle Trio’s new album, the listener journeys through floating poetic jazz and enticing grooves. Binding the album together is an emphasis on captivating melodies which is always a point of departure for the music. Kristoffer Vejslev describes the process as follows: "We often start with a melodic idea, which we develop together, in order to ensure that all musicians get to color the music regardless of who brought the initial piece”.
