Here are our most frequently asked questions.
When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 2:00 pm.
Check-out:
Dormitory rooms: by 10:00 am
Standard private rooms: by 10:00 am
Standard+ private rooms: by 12:00 pm
Apartments: by 12:00 pm
If you don't have a late check-out at 12:00 pm, you can upgrade for 200 DKK for private rooms and 75 DKK for a bed in a dorm.
When do I pay for my booking?
If you book via online booking on the website, you will have to pay immediately in order to approve your booking. When booking via telephone or e-mail, you will shortly receive a confirmation e-mail with payment details.
Please double check your reservation before paying to be sure if cancellation is free of charge before a specific date, or if the reservation is a non-refundable .
Cancellation policy
Cancellation or modification can be made until 6 p.m the day before arrival (local time). A charge of the first night’s price will apply if cancellation is made later than this.
Non-refundable reservations cannot be cancelled or modified. The full amount will be charged at the moment of the purchase and in case of a no-show, no refund will be made.
Other conditions apply for cancellations or modifications of large group bookings of more than 10 people - please contact us at gb@cphhostel.dk for more information.
Please be aware that other conditions may apply when booking through third-party agencies (e.g. Expedia, Booking.com, etc.).
Do you have an ATM?
We have an ATM in the basement where you can withdraw cash - take the stairs in our café BAR50 and follow the signs.
You can exchange currency (notes only) at the reception. We can exchange pounds, euros, and dollars.
Lost and found
If you have lost something during your stay here at our hostel, you can contact us on rec@cphhostel.dk, where you can tell us what you are missing. Next, we will see if it matches one of the parts in our box of lost and found. If it does, we will contact you with the further return process.
Want to donate your lost and found?
If you have lost something that you do not want us to send back to you, we will be happy to donate it to anyone who might need it. We do this as a part of our mission to be a sustainable hostel.
Age restriction
Children and young people up to and including 15 years of age can only stay at Danhostel Copenhagen City when accompanied by adults.
16 and 17-year-olds may stay alone at the hostel provided that Danhostel Copenhagen City has received a confirmation from a parent or guardian in advance, confirming that the young person is allowed to stay alone at the hostel.
Children under the age of 18 (and even when accompanied by adults) can only be accommodated in private rooms and not in dormitories.
Accessibility for disabled people
Danhostel Copenhagen City is accessible for wheelchair users. There is a ramp at the main entrance as well as elevator connection to all floors of the building. Buttons, key card readers etc. are all positioned at a height that can be reached by wheelchair users. Wheelchair users are also able to book extra-large rooms with extra-large bathrooms enabling them to move around more easily. Please inform us immediately upon booking if you require a wheelchair-friendly room in order to ensure that such a room is available.
What is the difference between Standard and Standard+?
Our private rooms and dormitories can be booked as either standard or standard+.
Standard rooms have a regular check-out time at 10:00 AM.
When booking a Standard+ room, you will stay on one of our top floors with a beautiful view of Copenhagen. Additionally, you will have a late check-out time at 12:00 PM.
Standard+ incurs an additional charge per room per night.
