No one can do everything – but everyone can do something.
BørneTelefonen
Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard. But for some children, worries about family, the world around them, or personal struggles can feel overwhelming — and speaking up isn’t always easy.
BørneTelefonen is Denmark’s national children’s helpline, offering free and anonymous support 24 hours a day. Trained volunteers are always ready to listen, provide comfort, and offer guidance to children and young people who need a trusted adult to turn to. It’s a place where no question is too small, no worry is dismissed, and every child’s voice matters.
In 2025, we’re supporting BørneTelefonen with a DKK 10,000 donation to help ensure that children in need always have somewhere safe to reach out to.
Dyreværnet
At Danhostel Copenhagen City, we love dogs — and our four-legged team member, Baloo the Hostel Dog, has often popped by to greet guests and staff with his wagging tail and boundless enthusiasm. Baloo is lucky to have a safe and loving home, but many animals in Denmark aren’t as fortunate.
Dyreværnet is one of Denmark’s oldest animal welfare organizations, working every day to rescue, care for, and rehome animals that have been abandoned, mistreated, or simply have nowhere else to go.
In 2025, we support Dyreværnet with DKK 5,000 on behalf of Baloo and the whole team, because we believe all animals deserve a safe and loving home.

Ingen Bliver Efterladt
For adults with developmental disabilities, finding the right living environment can be a challenge. Ingen Bliver Efterladt, which translates to “No One Is Left Behind” is a Danish non-profit organization working to create a safe, permanent home for people who cannot live entirely on their own.
Their vision is to build a self-governing residential community in Copenhagen, where residents receive the support and care they need while being part of an inclusive, active environment.
In 2025, we’re proud to support Ingen Bliver Efterladt with a DKK 10,000 contribution to help bring this important vision closer to reality. Everyone deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and part of a community.

Knæk Cancer
Cancer is a reality that touches almost every family in some way. In Denmark, the national Knæk Cancer campaign unites people across the country in a shared commitment to push back against the disease. Through nationwide fundraising, public awareness, and vital research funding, the campaign gives strength to those affected and fuels hope for the future.
At Danhostel Copenhagen City, we’re proud to support Knæk Cancer and the Danish Cancer Society in their mission to improve treatment, fund research, and support patients and their loved ones. In 2025, we’re contributing DKK 10,000 to help make a tangible difference in the fight against cancer.
This cause is deeply personal for so many — including our team and guests. By standing with Knæk Cancer, we stand with everyone affected.
