A National Running Day

Royal Run is a day filled with movement, joy and a festive atmosphere, taking place simultaneously in several Danish cities so everyone can take part.

Participants can choose between One Mile, 5 km, 10 km and a family route, and it is entirely up to each individual whether to walk or run. Whether you are an experienced runner or just starting out, everyone is welcome.

Along the routes, spectators and local residents create an energetic and encouraging atmosphere with cheering, live music and entertainment. Many wear royal-themed t-shirts and colourful accessories, highlighting the strong sense of community and shared celebration.

Beyond being a festive event, Royal Run also has a clear purpose. King Frederik’s vision is to inspire Danes to be more active and adopt a healthier lifestyle. By bringing people together across the country around movement and community, the goal is to create lasting, positive lifestyle changes.

Royal Run is therefore much more than a race – it is a celebration of health, the joy of movement and togetherness.
