As a coastal city with many canals, Copenhagen offers beautiful beaches and harbor baths, providing plenty of opportunities to take a dip or enjoy the sun by the water in the city.

Amager Beach Park

Copenhagen's largest beach is Amager Beach Park.
With over five kilometers of white sandy beach and clear blue water, the beach park offers an idyllic oasis for both locals and tourists. The park is ideal for relaxation, swimming, and sunbathing during the summer, as well as for walks along the promenade year-round. There are also facilities for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and beach volleyball, making the beach park a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. With its stunning views of the Øresund Bridge and the Øresund Strait, Amager Beach Park is a fantastic place to spend a day with family and friends.

The beach park is very family-friendly and offers food, ice cream, and beverages, as well as restrooms and lifeguards during the peak season. It’s only a 20-minute bike ride from the hostel, and the metro runs directly to Amager Strand station.

Islands Brygge Harbor Bath

Right across from Danhostel Copenhagen City is Islands Brygge, home to Copenhagen's largest harbor bath. Located on the waterfront at Islands Brygge, this harbor bath offers a unique and refreshing way to enjoy the water. Visitors can sunbathe on large grassy areas and take a dip in one of the five pools that make up the facility. There are shallow pools for children, a swimming pool, and a deeper pool equipped with a diving tower, offering jumps from one, three, and five meters.

The water in the harbor bath is clean and fresh, and the surroundings provide a fantastic view of the harbor and the city. There are also sunbathing areas where visitors can relax and soak up the sun after a swim. Islands Brygge Harbor Bath is open to the public from spring to fall, offering a fun and relaxing experience for all ages.

During the peak season, lifeguards are on duty, and there are restrooms available on site. Islands Brygge also offers plenty of options for ice cream, drinks, sandwiches, and more. Plus, visitors can enjoy one of the best views of Copenhagen – right across from Danhostel Copenhagen City.

Fisketorvet Harbor Bath

Fisketorvet Harbor Bath is a popular and modern swimming facility located along the waterfront near Fisketorvet Shopping Center in Copenhagen. This harbor bath offers a unique opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in the heart of the city with a stunning view of Copenhagen's harbor.

Kalvebod Wave

Across from Islands Brygge lies Kalvebod Brygge and Kalvebod Wave, a wave-shaped promenade that extends into the harbor on multiple levels.
